About Us

We are Colleen and Dave … and this is our retirement.

We drive the length and breadth of New Zealand in our motorhome, visiting our Okay2stay hosts, updating their listings, and finding new hosts to add to the network.

We stay at their vineyards, olive groves, rural cafes, berry farms and other enterprises, renew acquaintances and friendships, and buy great wines, beers, oils and yummy foods.

The happiness of our hosts as well as our members is very important to us. We support our hosts by visiting them regularly, publishing a common sense Code of Conduct for members to follow and ensuring our hosts and members have an enjoyable experience.

We love to hear from our members and hosts about their experiences and about the new friendships they have forged.

We didn’t think up this idea all on our own. In 2012 we hired an RV in the United States and joined an organisation called Harvest Hosts. This enabled us to park overnight at wineries, berry farms, lavender farms – and even a date farm in an oasis on the edge of Death Valley. These overnight stays were really memorable and we wanted to bring the concept back here to New Zealand.

A warm welcome, a peaceful, pleasant place close to Christchurch and what a pleasure to taste the freshly picked blueberries!! Thanks Don!! Laurent Lemai, Jan 2025

Thank you Neville, Leonie and Kelly! What a stunning spot you have for your guests. We camped next to a field of new born alpacas and woke to a stunning view. Learnt about the alpacas, took them for a walk and bought some lovely handmade knitwear made by Kelly! Emma Cowie Feb 2025
